What We Do
We are here to help
At our "Changing Lives in" shops, on-line and e-bay
We provide good quality items for people on a tight budget.
We sell new items and we also protect the environment by reusing and recycling pre-loved furniture and electrical goods.
Reducing social isolation
Our volunteers help those who are over 50 and experiencing loneliness and / or social isolation, perhaps as a result of bereavement or the coronavirus crisis.
We try and help some of the more vulnerable members of our community. Our befrienders contact their buddy with a visit, telephone call or on-line chat once or twice a week. We want to stop feelings of loneliness. Volunteers can also assist with shopping and medication collection etc. if that suits everyone.
Not all large household waste goes to landfill
We are proud to support Cheshire West Recycling Limited and Warrington Borough Council in collecting your bulky domestic waste - and we try and repair, reuse and recycle as much as we can.
A wholesale operation
To help tackle food poverty we operate the Cheshire Food Hub wholesale operations, in partnership with FareShare, the Welcome Network and Cheshire East and Cheshire West and Chester councils.
Please note we are not a food bank.
No one should go hungry. If you need emergency help, please contact the Trussell Trust or free call 0808 2082138.
Improving access to town centres and essential services
We are proud to support Cheshire West and Chester Council with their community transport needs. This includes school, day care and adult social care transportation for some of the most vulnerable members of our community.
Dial a Ride door-to-door minibus services for residents of Northwich and Winsford unable to use public transport.
Rural Rider door-to-door minibus services to residents of more rural areas where there is limited or non-existent public transport.
Volunteer Car Schemes to provide lifts to registered users across Cheshire West and Chester.
We can save regulatory hassle for local employers
We can undertake the relevant Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks for you. So you can make more informed, safer recruitment decisions and prevent unsuitable people from working with vulnerable adults and children.
Furniture & whitegoods for people in need
We operate contracts with Local Authorities and Housing Associations to provide their welfare assistance schemes.
These schemes ensure those in need gain access to essential household items and receive an efficient delivery and installation process.
We work closely with some local schools
We help schools support children, young people and their families in removing barriers and overcoming issues.
We work with both primary and high schools.
A professional and bespoke payroll service
We offer an efficient, bespoke payroll service primarily for small employers such as:
independent employers of personal assistants and care professionals
parish councils, charities and other non-profit organisations.
We provide all necessary services including payslips, calculations and payments to HMRC, P45’s and P60, statutory payments etc.
We offer a wide variety of opportunities
We are proud to have a long tradition of offering volunteer, work experience and training placements.
We work with job centres, the unemployed, housing associations and employment agencies to make effective work plans and meaningful experiences.
Many of our permanent team started as volunteers within the organisation - for some the first time that they entered the world of work.
We help save the planet one gadget at a time
Recycling of WEEE is now a specialist part of the waste and recycling industry.
We are one of a handful of charitable organisations in Cheshire that are certified Approved Authorised Treatment Facilities (AATF) and Designated Collection Facilities (DCF).
