In this role you will be reporting directly to the Head of Operations, the Warehouse Team Leader will add value throughout the organisation, ensuring that warehouse operations are efficient and effective. The Warehouse Team Leader is responsible for maintaining the smooth operation of a fast-moving environment and for the day-to-day management of people within the warehouse function, to ensure company's targets and objectives are met to meet customer and stakeholder requirements, ensuring that staff comply with health, safety and standard operating procedures

You will ensure that our collection and delivery services fulfil and surpass our contractual obligations. Our services are the ‘face of Changing Lives Together’, providing a vital service to the community. You will be responsible for working to tight deadlines to ensure collections and deliveries are completed on time.
This role is crucial in determining how well Changing Lives Together manages its resources and satisfies its customers and is therefore critical to the organisation’s success.

Main Responsibilities and duties:

• Leading, monitoring and supervising a group of warehouse and van operatives to achieve goals.
• Prioritising workforce to ensure that daily targets are achieved for all warehousing and van activities through effective task and duty allocation.
• Monitoring and driving KPIs and taking action to ensure they are all met on a daily and weekly basis.
• Monitoring the quality of work that our operatives carry out and manage performance.
• Monitoring staff workflow and troubleshoot where required to solve day-to-day issues.
• Effective verbal and written communication with other members of the team and across the organisation.
• Ensure vehicles and work equipment are maintained to a good standard and in accordance to maintenance schedule.
• Maintaining and overseeing inventory and supplies by receiving, storing and delivering items.
• Ensure products are handled correctly and in-line with manual handling guidelines.
• Being responsible for the site’s cleanliness and maintenance.
• Work effectively with external contractors and suppliers to ensure efficient operational practices.
• Accurately complete administrative tasks and performance reports.
• Constantly work to improve processes and make suggestions for productivity improvements.
• Key holder for the warehouse and site. Taking responsibility for securing and opening site as required.
• Responsible for the Health & Safety of yourself and others, both on and off the premises, ensuring that Health & Safety guidelines are followed at all times.

About You

As well as having a strong work ethic. You will also have:

• Management/supervisory experience, preferably within a production/warehouse operation.
• The ability to challenge decisions and behaviours to ensure consistency in service to our customers and stakeholders, and will demonstrate your ability to problem solve.
• A proven track record of people management and delivering strong results through a team in a people management role.
• Ability to demonstrate excellent co-ordination skills and have the ability to influence a working group of dual skilled Operations Technicians
• Proven interpersonal and technical skills with the ability to motivate individuals and teams.
• Assertiveness with the ability to make decisions on the spot.
• A ‘can-do’ attitude and a strong work ethic.
• Being detail focused and having strong organisational skills.
• You are able to operate in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks and deadlines.
• You hold a full, clean UK Driving Licence.

Usual Accountabilities

• Working knowledge and understanding of workplace H&S, environmental and legislative requirements
• To receive, store and process data (in whatever form or medium such data takes – e.g., electronic and/ or documented) in a confidential manner and in accordance with the Company’s agreed data management policies and accordance with GDPR regulations
• To develop/attend team and organisational meetings
• To have regular supervision and review of targets
• To promote the conduct and ethos of the organisation at all times
• To understand and apply all Changing Lives Together policies and procedures at all times in all areas of your employment
• To attend any relevant training to support continued professional development in line with the organisations training policy
• To carry out such relevant and appropriate duties commensurate with the framework of the post and grade that from time to time may be required by management in consultation with the post holder.
